Storage Area Network (SAN) security has often been overlooked by organizations with the misconception that SANs are inherently safe to begin with due to their closed nature.  SANs, like any other network, have their own vulnerabilities and weaknesses and it is important that each organization fully understand what these are as well as understanding how to harden their SANs and protect the data that lives on them.  With the advent of certain legislations, security has been at the forefront of IT managers' minds and knowing the security status of their SANs has become important.  This presentation is aimed at educating all persons responsible for managing SANs on the various issues that can make these networks vulnerable and present security risks.
