Emerging Technologies in the Storage Infrastructure

This session will highlight the end-user benefits of next generation technologies from a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Fibre Channel (FC) perspective in concert with storage systems providers.  Specifically, Mr. Symons will discuss the benefits of 6G SAS, zoning and future proofing technologies for storage systems customers.  FC topologies and SAS performance and topologies will be covered, as well as how they are implemented today, and the economic benefits of SATA and increasing SAS adoption in the external storage market. 

As a result of participating in this session, attendees will be able to: 

• Define the end-user benefits of next generation SAS and FC technologies, including the economic impact
• Determine how 6G SAS, zoning and future proofing technologies benefit storage systems
• Develop a high-level, conceptual understanding of how to implement FC and SAS topologies
